Symphony Legacy Society
In 2002, the Symphony established the Legacy Society to recognize donors who have invested in the Symphony's future. These generous donors have made provisions in their estate to help the San Diego Symphony continue to bring music to the community for years to come.
What is the Symphony Legacy Society?
By making a planned gift to the San Diego Symphony, you are eligible for membership in the Legacy Society. Being a member of the Legacy Society allows you to be recognized during your lifetime for the provisions made for the Symphony's future. Benefits of being a member include listing in the program (if you so choose), an annual Legacy Society event and invitations to special donor events.
Why is the endowment important?
- An endowment is a pool of assets invested to support the vision of the San Diego Symphony in perpetuity. Philosophically, an endowment is:
- A promise made by the current generation to future ones that the San Diego Symphony will be able to sustain its commitments over time,
- A community’s investment in its own future, where a better quality of life inspires deeper roots and a home that will be celebrated by all, and
- A way for donors to ensure that their vision and lasting legacy will be recognized in perpetuity.
Who is invited to join?
Symphony patrons, classical music lovers, music educators, citizens of the San Diego region – people from all walks of life will be invited to participate in ensuring that classical music is perpetuated for future generations.
How do I join?
If you have included the San Diego Symphony in your will or bequest, copy the pertinent page indicating you have remembered the Symphony and send it to the address shown below. If you have not included the Symphony in your will, submit the following sample language to an attorney for inclusion:
I give (cash of $_____ or __% of my estate or specified property) to the San Diego Symphony Foundation, Tax ID # 14-1858753.
